After graduating from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree International Relations, Meghan wanted to enter a more creative field. Design school and a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from Miami International University of Art and Design soon followed. Meghan continued her fashion education in Paris, France at the Paris Fashion Institute. The mix of both an American and an European education taught Meghan the art of style and the execution of couture.
Upon her return from Paris, Meghan started working in a couture boutique, with headlining clients, as a patternmaker and sample maker. After refining her education and becoming an expert in design and construction, Meghan ventured out on her own. Meghan Lawlor Collections started with couture sportswear, then evolved into couture eveningwear and bridal gowns.
When her identical twin sister got married, Meghan designed and produced her gown and her maids. Due to logistics, Meghan was not going to produce her accessories. The veils that Whitney went to purchase were incredibly expensive with only moderate quality. Meghan then designed and fabricated all her bridal accessories, which was made more special when she incorporated a strand of pearls from her grandmother into the veil designs.
After the wedding, Meghan began to explore the Bridal accessory market. Meghan Lawlor Collections now provides brides and bridal salons, with high quality, mid-level price point bridal accessories. Stock veils, headpieces, garters, wedding jewelry, maid's gifts, and flower girl jewelry are available. For those brides or bridal salon's that want original designs, custom accessories can be created directly with the designer.
